A professional photographer since 1973, Ron Scherl has worked in editorial and commercial photography for a wide range of clients including Time, Newsweek, Fortune, Forbes, The New York Times and many other publications, plus major corporations and performing arts organizations. He has worked in the medical field for the past 8 years, developing protocols to photograph the results of a variety of aesthetic procedures. He is currently employed by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art working in digital imaging and color management, and travels widely lecturing at industry conferences and instructing physicians on photographic principles and techniques.

Demystifying Clinical Photography

Well-taken, consistent patient before and after photos are invaluable to help manage patient expectations, improve patient satisfaction and assist with patient consultations. Ron Scherl, noted photography consultant, will discuss simple techniques to help you take more consistent clinical photographs. He will cover lighting, draping, backgrounds, and camera systems. Ron will also show common inconsistencies involving light and shadow. Knowing these photography "tricks" will assist analysis of other physicians' or companies clinical photos.
